This
airmail stamp, issued on August 30, 1947, shows a Martin 2-0-2 twin-engine
aircraft over the Pan-American Union Building at 17th Street and Constitution
Avenue, N.W. Built between 1908 and 1910, the building blends European and
indigenous American architectural styles and is the headquarters of the
Organization of American States.
